1. About GoCar Turkey
GoCar Turkey is an online car rental marketplace and comparison platform. We help travellers compare rental vehicles, prices and rental conditions from multiple independent local and international car rental providers operating in Turkey.
GoCar Turkey does not own, operate or maintain the rental vehicles displayed on the website unless explicitly stated otherwise. The actual rental agreement is concluded between the customer and the rental supplier identified in the booking confirmation or rental voucher.
2. Role of GoCar Turkey
Our role is to provide a platform through which customers can search for available rental vehicles and compare offers from independent suppliers.
Rental suppliers remain responsible for:
- Providing the booked vehicle or an appropriate replacement;
- Vehicle condition and maintenance;
- Rental deposits and payment requirements;
- Insurance coverage and excess;
- Fuel and mileage policies;
- Driver eligibility requirements;
- Vehicle collection and return procedures;
- Roadside assistance;
- Damage assessment and charges related to the rental vehicle.
3. Booking a Rental Car
A booking is considered confirmed only after the customer receives a booking confirmation or voucher.
Customers are responsible for entering accurate information during the booking process, including the driver’s name, age, contact information, pick-up location, rental dates and other requested details.
Incorrect information may result in refusal of the vehicle by the rental supplier.
4. Vehicle Availability
Vehicles displayed on GoCar Turkey are subject to availability.
Unless an exact model is explicitly guaranteed in the booking conditions, vehicle images and model names are generally representative of a vehicle category. The rental supplier may provide a similar vehicle from the same or a higher category.
5. Rental Prices
Prices displayed on GoCar Turkey are based on information supplied by our rental partners and the details entered in the search.
The total rental price may depend on:
- Pick-up and return dates;
- Rental duration;
- Vehicle category;
- Driver age;
- Pick-up location;
- Insurance options;
- Additional equipment;
- Optional services;
- Supplier-specific fees.
Customers should review the final booking price and rental conditions before confirming a reservation.
6. Security Deposit
Many car rental suppliers require a refundable security deposit when the vehicle is collected. The amount and payment method depend on the selected supplier and vehicle.
When an offer is marked as No Deposit, this means that the selected supplier does not require the standard security deposit for that specific rental offer, subject to the conditions displayed during booking.
A No Deposit rental does not remove the customer’s responsibility for charges that may arise from traffic fines, missing fuel, vehicle damage, prohibited use, lost equipment or other costs permitted under the supplier’s rental agreement.
7. No Credit Card Rentals
Selected rental suppliers may offer vehicles that can be rented without a traditional credit card.
A No Credit Card offer may allow payment using a debit card, cash, online payment or another method accepted by the rental supplier.
Customers must always check the payment requirements shown for the selected vehicle before completing the booking.
8. Payment
Depending on the booking, payment may be collected fully or partially online, while the remaining balance may be payable directly to the rental supplier.
The accepted payment methods are determined by the rental supplier and may include credit cards, debit cards, cash or other methods specified in the booking conditions.
9. Driver Requirements
The main driver must meet the requirements specified by the selected rental supplier.
These may include:
- A minimum driver age;
- A minimum period of driving experience;
- A valid driving licence;
- A valid passport or national identity card;
- An International Driving Permit where required;
- An accepted payment method.
Young driver or senior driver fees may apply depending on the supplier.
10. Driving Licence Requirements
Customers must present a valid driving licence when collecting the vehicle.
Drivers whose licence is not accepted directly in Turkey may be required to present an International Driving Permit together with their original driving licence.
It is the customer’s responsibility to verify that their documentation meets the supplier’s requirements before travelling.
11. Vehicle Collection
Customers must arrive at the agreed pick-up location at the time specified in the reservation.
The booking confirmation or voucher may contain additional collection instructions, including airport meeting points, rental office addresses or supplier contact details.
Customers should contact the rental supplier if their flight or arrival time changes significantly.
12. Vehicle Inspection
Before accepting the vehicle, customers should inspect it carefully and ensure that any existing damage is recorded in the rental agreement or vehicle condition report.
Customers are encouraged to take photographs or videos of the vehicle at pick-up and return.
13. Insurance
Insurance coverage varies between rental suppliers and vehicle offers.
Customers should review the insurance conditions before booking, including:
- Collision damage coverage;
- Theft protection;
- Third-party liability;
- Insurance excess;
- Excluded vehicle parts;
- Optional additional coverage.
Additional insurance purchased from a third party may operate independently from the rental supplier’s own insurance policy.
14. Fuel Policy
Each rental offer has its own fuel policy.
Common policies include full-to-full, same-to-same or other arrangements specified by the rental supplier. Customers may be charged for missing fuel and refuelling services if the vehicle is returned contrary to the agreed fuel policy.
15. Mileage
Some vehicles include unlimited mileage, while others have daily or total mileage limits.
When a mileage restriction applies, additional kilometres may be charged according to the supplier’s rental conditions.
16. Toll Roads
Turkey operates electronic toll systems on certain motorways, bridges and tunnels.
Rental vehicles may be equipped with an electronic toll system such as HGS. Toll charges and any associated administrative fees may be charged by the rental supplier after use.
17. Traffic Fines and Parking Charges
The driver is responsible for traffic fines, parking charges, toll violations and other penalties incurred during the rental period.
Rental suppliers may charge an additional administration fee for processing fines or requests from authorities.
18. Cross-Border Travel
Taking a rental vehicle outside Turkey is not automatically permitted.
Customers must obtain written permission from the rental supplier before crossing any international border with the vehicle.
Additional insurance, documentation, fees or restrictions may apply.
19. Additional Drivers
Only drivers listed and approved in the rental agreement are authorised to drive the vehicle.
Additional driver fees may apply depending on the selected supplier and rental conditions.
20. Prohibited Use
Rental vehicles must not be used for unlawful or prohibited activities.
Unless specifically authorised by the supplier, prohibited use may include:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- Allowing an unauthorised driver to operate the vehicle;
- Racing or speed testing;
- Driving in prohibited off-road areas;
- Transporting illegal goods;
- Using the vehicle for commercial passenger transport;
- Sub-renting the vehicle;
- Taking the vehicle outside authorised territory.
21. Accidents and Vehicle Damage
In the event of an accident, theft or vehicle damage, customers must follow the rental supplier’s instructions.
This may include contacting the police, obtaining an official accident report, taking photographs and immediately informing the supplier.
Failure to follow the required procedure may affect insurance coverage.
22. Roadside Assistance
Roadside assistance conditions depend on the rental supplier.
Customers should use the emergency contact information provided in the rental agreement or booking voucher if the vehicle breaks down or cannot be driven safely.
23. Cancellation
Cancellation policies vary by supplier and booking type.
The applicable cancellation conditions are displayed before booking and may also appear in the booking confirmation.
Some reservations may qualify for free cancellation before a specified deadline, while others may be partially or fully non-refundable.
24. Booking Modifications
Requests to change rental dates, locations, driver details or vehicle categories are subject to availability.
A modification may change the rental price or require cancellation of the existing reservation and creation of a new booking.
25. No-Show
A customer may be considered a no-show if they fail to collect the vehicle at the scheduled time without informing the rental supplier.
No-show reservations may be non-refundable according to the applicable booking conditions.
26. Flight Delays
Where possible, customers collecting a vehicle at an airport should provide a valid flight number.
Rental suppliers may monitor flight delays, but this does not guarantee that the vehicle will be held indefinitely. Customers should contact the supplier when a significant delay occurs.
27. Errors in Prices or Availability
Although we make reasonable efforts to ensure that information displayed on GoCar Turkey is accurate, errors may occasionally occur in prices, vehicle information or availability.
If an obvious pricing or technical error affects a booking, GoCar Turkey or the rental supplier may contact the customer to offer an alternative or cancel the affected reservation and provide any applicable refund.
28. Supplier Changes or Cancellation
A rental supplier may occasionally be unable to provide the reserved vehicle due to operational circumstances, vehicle damage, mechanical failure or other unexpected events.
In such cases, the supplier may provide a similar or upgraded vehicle, propose another solution or cancel the reservation.
29. Third-Party Rental Suppliers
Rental suppliers listed on GoCar Turkey are independent businesses.
GoCar Turkey does not control their day-to-day operations and is not responsible for actions that fall exclusively within the supplier’s obligations under the rental agreement.
However, where appropriate, we may assist customers with communication or booking-related issues.
30. Website Information
We aim to provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding vehicles, prices, rental conditions and locations.
However, supplier information may change, and availability can be updated in real time. Customers should rely on the final conditions displayed during booking and in their booking confirmation.
31. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GoCar Turkey is not liable for losses resulting from the independent actions or omissions of rental suppliers, including vehicle availability, vehicle condition, supplier operational decisions or enforcement of supplier rental terms.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.
32. Website Use
Users must not misuse the GoCar Turkey website, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with website operation, introduce malicious software or use automated systems in a way that may damage or overload the platform.
33. Intellectual Property
Website content, design, branding, logos, text and other materials owned by GoCar Turkey may not be copied, reproduced or commercially distributed without permission, except where permitted by law.
Certain vehicle images, supplier logos and trademarks may belong to their respective owners.
34. Privacy
Personal information collected through GoCar Turkey is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Booking information may be shared with the selected rental supplier and relevant service providers when necessary to process and manage a reservation.
35. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, supplier arrangements, legal requirements or business practices.
The latest version will always be published on this page together with the date of the most recent update.
36. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are subject to applicable laws and mandatory consumer protection rules. Where a specific rental agreement is concluded with an independent supplier, that agreement may specify its own governing law and jurisdiction.
